UW-Superior student/athlete Bri Davis (Sr.-Hermantown/MN) scored 28 points and registered 14 rebounds facing WIAC opponents this week and is the WWS choice for WIAC women's basketball player of the week.
On Wednesday (1/25) the Yellowjacket forward scored 17 points in a closely-played 61-56 home-loss at Mertz Morterelli Gym against powerhouse (16-3) UW-Eau Claire.
Bri converted 7-of-10 shots from the floor and pulled down 7 boards, adding to her conference totals (65).
On Saturday (1/28) Davis registered 11 points and recorded a team-high 7 rebounds in a 67-85 Yellowjacket loss facing defending WIAC Champion UW-Stevens Point, playing for 18 minutes.
In 14 contests this season Davis has scored 147 total points, converting 61-of-108 shots (.565%), with 10 assists.
Last year Bri finished the 2010-11 WIAC season with 323 points and racked up 201 rebounds (126 defensive), playing in 25 games.
Also making the grade this week;
UW-Platteville guard Liz Lawinger (Jr.-Mineral Point/WI) team-high 14 points, on 6-of-10 shooting from the field, in a 56-58 Pioneer road-loss to UW-River Falls at the Karges Center (1/28).
UW-River Falls forward Alise Holst (Sr.-Plainville/MN) had the game-high of 19 points, converting 3-of-6 three point attempts.
UW-RF center Maranda Dohrn (Sr.-Lake City /MN) had 13 rebounds against the Pioneers, giving her 845 career boards, the Falcons all-time rebounding leader.
