MLB news
Milwaukee Brewer p/ Zach Davies (7-/AZ-HS) 33 starts (17-9 last season, 3.90 ERA) - preseason Cy Young candidate - Richard Justice - MLB.com
WWS - With the acquisition of Gallardo, the Crew seems to have a solid bullpen with Josh Hader (2-3 2.08), Matt Albers (7-2 1.62) and Corey Knebel (1-4, 1.78)  39 saves: however trading Anthony 'sparkplug' Swarzak (Mets) ...could be hard to replace. Swarzak helped the Brewers last year, a bright spot when the teams' pitching was slumping.
The Crew have a strong 1,2,3 starting rotation for the grueling MLB season with Chase Anderson (12-4, 2.74), Jimmy 'Big Sweat' Nelson (12-6, 3.49) and Davies... time for the Brewers to put a complete season together, including a spot in the postseason.
Still available on the free-market: Alex Cobb - career 48-35 4.50 ERA): Yu Darvish - career 56-43, 3.42 ERA: Lance Lynn - career 72-47, 3.48 ERA : Jake Arietta - career 88-57,  3.57ERA.

Sports history:
The 1936 Olympic Winter Games begin in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Norway wins the most overall medals, including 7 Gold, 5 Silver and 3 Bronze. German Nordic skier Wilhelm Bogner Sr. (1909-1977)  recites the 'Olympic Oath' during the opening ceremony.

"In the name of the athletes. In the name of all judges. In the name of all the coaches and officials. We promise to take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules and in the spirit of fair play. We all commit ourselves to sport without doping and cheating. We do this, for the glory of sport, for the honour of our teams and in respect for the Fundamental Principles of Olympism."

Bogner, an 11-time German Nordic Champion and POW during WWII, established a clothing line after the war, creating the worlds first pair of stretch ski-pants (1945) modeled by Marilyn Monroe and others.

The 65th annual event was a huge success with an excellent turnout - a good time enjoyed by everyone - supported by awesome weather and plenty of fish caught.

In addition to sponsoring the ice fishing contest the Dunn County Fish and Game Association supports many worthwhile projects, including working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources - the club donated $5,050.00 towards the purchase of 41.2 contiguous acres with the Gilbert Creek Trout Stream, part of the Gilbert Creek Restoration Project.

The DCFGA also provided funding for the "Archery in Schools Program" - teaching archery in all four school districts in Dunn County, also sponsoring youth shooting events and land conservation workshops.
